About Jot

Jot is a fast, private note and idea logger for iPhone. It opens straight to a blank note, saves on your device, and never asks you to sign in.

Quick start

• Tap the + button or the Quick note bar at the bottom to start a note.
• Choose a category (Idea, Task, Code, Journal, Meeting, Research) and add tags.
• Pin important notes, archive what you are done with, and search across everything.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my notes stored?

On your device only. Jot has no account and no cloud sync, so nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Can Jot import my Apple Notes automatically?

No. iOS has no public way for an app to read Apple Notes. Instead, open the Import screen to paste text, import .txt or Markdown files, or share text into Jot using the iOS share sheet.

Do you offer sync or backup?

Not in this version. Because notes live on your device, use an iPhone backup (iCloud or Finder) to keep them safe. Cloud sync is planned for a future release.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual notes inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data.

Is my data private?

Yes. No tracking, no analytics, no ads, no servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
