The short version

Jot does not collect, store, sell, or share any of your personal data. There is no account, no login, no cloud, and no tracking. Every note you write stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Jot has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no servers that receive your data. We do not know who you are, and we cannot see your notes.

Where your notes live

Your notes, titles, tags, and categories are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). They are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

When data leaves your device

Data only leaves your device when you choose to send it:

• When you use the iOS share sheet to share or export a note.
• When you import a file (.txt or Markdown) that you select.
• When you paste text into the app.

You control each of these actions. Jot never sends anything on its own.

Third parties

Jot uses no third-party services, analytics providers, advertising networks, or trackers.

Data retention and deletion

You are in full control. Delete any note inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device.

Children's privacy

Jot does not collect data from anyone, including children. It is safe for users of all ages.
